godly dungeon - theta caverns
[ zenos had offered them a game. either way, who knew who'd be the viceroy of dalmasca after this? celcus was awoken. celcus was unsafe. all that thancred knew is that he needed to save him from awakening inside garlemald - and y'shtola had come with him.
before the two could set off to rescue celcus, there was a semi-familar clicking. though gaius had begun to live in the shell of the primal alexander, he often used those fully under his will, those in the onemind, to communicate. after all, he couldn't just go out there. he was a monster, bug fused with garlean. he was less willing to be seen then even regula and his tiny sahagin, who could at least pass as au ra (like y'shtola) if he needed to go out there.
but the mechanical gnath let out a few clicks, and began to explain. there were mountains near to garlean territory, with many passages. a few of his men had gone to investigate, to see if he could see the state of the country he died for. a small bit of him wanted to see how he had been remembered. however, a strange machine had greeted them. it looked almost like the dormant omega, but... smaller. and redder. this small omega had destroyed those bugs - squashed them, and absorbed their very aether. if it was eliminated, the path would be a safer one then heading there from the doman side, where men were still fighting and alert. he still was curious about the burn, about areas where aether was drained from the land, but that was not the point of this mission.
they had a loyal soldier to save. primal or not, secret spy or not. though he was loathe to admit it, gaius was on their side now, and was acting as the leader he was. he would lead in that buggy form, hoping that the strange child omega hadn't altered the caverns too much... or that the ascian had not begun to move, playing their games with mortal men.
odder still, lahabrea had wished them luck as they left. it was becoming clear that he was disliked by most of the other ascian, and clearer still that he was slowly adapting to being mortal. adapting to being mateus, and their ally. he had even begun to garden again, though his fingers werent as apt as ascian ones. igeyorhm had also wished them luck, and given them some potions and other drinkable items she'd slipped from a client or two.
it had taken a week for y'shtola, thancred, and gaius to get to the entrance of the cavern. even with y'shtola having a second sense for navigation, and thancred being able to feel the mountains though his very essense, the territory was dangerous. thancred would still be able to sense the caverns, sense how things were - however, there were blind spots, full of queer aether.
(the fact that thancred and y'shtola had sex a few times on the trip also made gaius feel awkward, like he was taking care of teens. their curse still was not cured.) ]
Once you have found and eliminated the puer Omega, there will be nothing preventing us from retrieving and returning your Goe. As long as it patrols these caverns, it may attack when we are carrying the compromised soldier.
[ ah. so thats the rank that gaius thinks celcus is... or deserves? its not clear, as the gnath shakes a little, cutely. ]

You'd eaten everything else you could, then. And the others…?
no subject
[ his voice stumbles, seems to be non-robotic for a moment.
and there's a small swipe. sharp claws, but. short. ] Are you daft? I can create with what I devour. That's the true power of Weapons.
no subject
[he's still sure he's never seen this robot before.
He catches the beginning of the swipe out of the corner of his eye, but doesn't manage to jerk entirely out of the way- hissing at the pain.] I didn't know that- I didn't know much of Omega, but that it- you- was incredibly powerful. But- how did you end up here?
no subject
[ as thancred hisses, y'shtola uses a gentle healing spell on him - before using her staff to knock the robot off of its' limbs, and. sort of. pinning it in that laying down position. ]
I fell. Obviously. Do none of you pay attention? I imagine our fall was quite spectacular, to smash a hole into a mountain.
no subject
[ah. That's a very simple way to keep it down for now. He'll look for a bit of rope- that seems a little more permanent.]
Ah…. That striking meteor was you? What brought you down?
no subject
[ ...prastha...?
yup, there's rope! but the robot bweeps. ] Planesgorgers-- they came for us. Anybody lesser wouldn't have survived.
no subject
Worldeaters? Then- you and your companions are all powerful, yes?
no subject
[ he shudders, and the wall behind them seems to crumble a little, beginning to fuse back into the robot. ] Correct. We all had to struggle to survive. I am a Weapon. And even then, I'm not the strongest - loathe as I am to admit it. Simply the one who survived the impact the least hurt.
no subject
And you've made do with what you have here. Been the one to try and go out to retrieve what you could for them?
no subject
Starving. Last supplies didn't last long enough. Gnath don't have much under their exoskeletons. [ nero can't seem to think in his head anymore. but then he tries to struggle, tries to free himself from the rope. ] Can't even hunt down two Spoken now. Pathetic.
no subject
I don't imagine they would. […honestly he just feels sad watching this, and puts out a hand to hold onto the robot- not freeing it, but considering.] Maybe- we could spare some supplies, but not much…. [he glances at Y'shtola, head tilted.] What do you make of this?
no subject
Do you recall the wisdom Belias gave us - as did Hydaelyn? One of Dark, one of Light, one of Balance. I feel this may be a side-effect. [ in other words - she's reaching for her linkpearl, to call other scions. ] We won't let them die. But Celcus remains a priority for us.
no subject
Right. The worlds shattered into three- who's to say that might not have involved some changes…? [he nods, settling a little.] He does. You- ah, do you think you can hold on?
no subject
...We still haven't gotten Celcus, no. Get Nophica and Byregot to prepare supplies - we've found at least one starving beast, likely more. We're not sure, but it seems to be a similar being to us. Contact any engineers, as well. I'll contact with more details later.
[ y'shtola turns back, after her conversation. clearly hiding their identities. ] We must still be wary of this - but I think... this robot may be related to our organization, more then simply being a strong deity-esque being. We rescue Celcus - and by the time we have returned to these caverns, the others should have brought supplies enough to aid both him and however large this group is.
no subject
[probably a good move, really.]. Quite- we don't know who the others are, but I'd hope they'd be able to help us, too. If a planesgorger was after them- we have something in common, right? [he nods.]
no subject
We do - if we are combating the same threat, we are allies in arms. But, for now... [ she points her staff at the robot. ] We will be taking our leave. If you try and attack us after this, I, at least, will not hold back.
no subject
And she can be quite terrifying when she's unleashing all she has. But we won't hurt you or the others if we don't need to.
no subject
It does. [ Y'shtola says, letting Thancred untie the robot. ] How do we get to the other side.
Go though the north vines, and then stick to the east. That's the only other exit - straight into Garlean territory. Why, they'd dismantle me if I went there.
no subject
[He's not exactly careful about it- figuring undoing the ropes won't do much more damage than has already been done- but he does set the robot right-side up, as a sign of good faith.]
I imagine so- you'd be most fascinating to them. Still, that's where we want to go.
no subject
...And he's gone. We reunite with Ga-- Ravana, then?
[ in case it's still listening. ]
no subject
Mm, let's do that. The way should be safe enough, and I'd prefer we weren't split too long.
[He turns to head back towards Gaius, to give him the news.]
no subject
After you left, the slime on the walls vanished. Is it done?
[ y'shtola looks to thancred, before shaking her head. ] It is more complicated then we anticipated. Which we should anticipate, from now on...
